Our founders, Mr. A.H. Skip Kitchner and Mr. Richard M. Pierro, are experts in the field of benefit consulting. Mr. Kitchner is a Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Mr. Pierro is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Chartered Healthcare Consultant (ChHC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Both are members of several local and national broker advisory committees.

The Beginning
We start managing the renewal process at the beginning of the current plan year 365 days in advance. Then 120 days prior to renewal, we re-evaluate your benefit plan design, claims history, industry trends and other factors in preparation for your Request for Proposal (RFP).

Request for Proposal (RFP)
Properly preparing and presenting your RFP is critically important because it will generate your initial premium offer. The underwriters will make an offer based on the contents of your RFP and their interpretation of it.
We know how to prepare and present attractive RFPs because we understand the underwriting process. Our efforts usually result in a lower initial premium offer. If the initial offer is not palatable, we have plenty of time to evaluate your alternatives because we start sooner.

If we are unable to generate an attractive offer from your existing provider, we will evaluate your alternatives and discuss them with you. The idea of Transactional Onboarding is to automate as much of the initial paperwork that a new employee must complete when hired as possible. Skip is also active on several insurance company advisory boards including Blue Cross Blue Shield. On the local level, Skip is also involved. His involvement includes, Tidwell Hospice where he was past chair and trustee emeritus, other charitable organizations are Manasota ARC, Manasota Lighthouse for the Blind, and Just for Girls.
Skip is married to Vicki and has one son named Tad, and a very intelligent grand daughter named Jane.

In order to provide you with unparalleled administrative, communication and compliance support, we will assign you a Personal Account Manager.
This person is your liaison with the insurance carrier and us. He/she is responsible for coordinating all of your service, administration, communication and compliance needs, including the review and updating of your Employee Benefit Handbook as needed.
Your Personal Account Manager is a very important piece to the Administrative Support puzzle. But, your employees need to be kept up-to-date on changes to their benefits plan.
The high cost of administration pales in comparison to the high cost of not being in compliance. Massive fines levied by COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA and DOL have hurt many unsuspecting companies.

Preventative Services
Under the new Health Care Reform Law Preventive Services are covered at 100% without being subject to a deductible or co-pay! You can get checkups, screenings, vaccines and much more with no out of pocket costs to you!
It is never too late to establish a healthy lifestyle and it begins with this important addition to your health insurance.
Covered Preventive Screenings for Adults include:
1. Physical exam including, health history, blood pressure, height and weight, BMI, and cholesterol screenings.
2. For Men: Prostate screenings. Women: Mammograms, PAP smear.
3. Immunizations recommended at various ages
Please note that the visits are for preventive services. When you make your appointment make sure your physician knows that it is a preventive visit. If you get services that are part of a visit to diagnose, monitor or treat an illness or injury then deductible, and/or co-pays will apply.

Human Resource Updates
On May 16th U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced a final rule that prohibits employers accepting expired documents and revises the list of acceptable documents for the I-9.
· On May 24th final regulations updating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) scale back several parts of the law. These will the definition of disability.
· On June 1st The Florida minimum wage will increase to $7.31 per hour. Employers of tipped employees who meet eligibility requirements for the tip credit under the FLSA, may count tips actually received as wages under the Florida minimum wage. However, the employer must pay tipped employees a direct wage.

Ron can help you with the accepted documents for the I-9, new mandatory posters for the minimum wage and can help you with an understanding of the final rules of the ADA.
